An exhibition for Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC) in the International Creative Industries Exhibition in Shanghai as a platform for launching their website and showcasing outstanding work by Hong Kong designers.
The design concept drew inspiration from “thinking bubbles” often used to represent the characters’ thoughts or ideas in comic books creating instant association with the process of design, which is about the incubation of ideas. Clouds of bubbles in varying sizes filled the exhibition space imbuing it with a heightened sense of fun and humour. Inside the huge red bubble in the centre of the showcase housed a multimedia device equipped with motion-detection sensors. Once a visitor entered the bubble, the device would sense his movements and he would be “followed” by bubble images, which, when touched, would burst and activate projections of the showcased Hong Kong designers’ works.
