Chanting Notes

Multi-discipline

“Chanting Notes” was an art installation of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) Information Centre. The artists used shredded banknotes that were no longer in circulation and meticulously sorted the confetti by hues and tones, then transformed them into 2,018 pieces of see-through cubes. The cubes were fixed to suspend in the air in the form of a Bauhinia tree (the city flower of Hong Kong and also the emblem of HKMA), with lighting effects showing its beauty in four seasons! The repetitive creation process was like chanting and orchestrating chapters of notes into a rhythmic composition.
