Ascot Chang Exhibition

Exhibition

A masculine but elegant setting was created for this exhibition celebrating three generations of exquisite Shanghai-style tailoring workmanship of Ascot Chang, the Hong Kong-based world-renowned brand in bespoke suits making.

To impress upon the audience what set Ascot Chang apart from other suits makers, top-grade fabrics used to make suits and shirts such as the world famous Egyptian cotton were displayed. In addition, a total of 24 different collar styles were featured in a showcase on the evolution of collars through time. The audience appreciated from these exhibits among others what made Ascot Chang famous was not only its attention to detail and workmanship but also its keen fashion sense.

Ascot Chang’s workmanship was mirrored playfully in a design detail of the exhibition: the borders of all the surfaces bearing the brand’s name and logo featured a white dotted-line resembling sewing stitches. A dark-brown colour scheme was adopted for the exhibition to reflect the distinguished status of the brand and to cater to an audience with more mature taste.

The exhibition featured a round stage flanked in part by wall-like structures with heavy beams sitting atop metal grids. A runway was attached to the stage for holding a fashion show at the opening of the exhibition. At other times, the stage was used to display mannequins clad-in suits made by Ascot Chang. A number of multimedia features were also on hand to introduce the history of the brand.
