Ascot Chang 60th Anniversary Exhibition
Exhibition
The exhibition tells the intertwined success stories of Ascot Chang, the internationally famous bespoke tailoring house, and Hong Kong, the city the suit brand proudly calls home on the occasion of the brand’s 60th Anniversary.
The designer’s response to the challenge of presenting a tremendous amount of historical facts without overwhelming the exhibition is a design that is light and fluid through creating a gigantic tape measure looping throughout the exhibition.
The tape measure, chosen for its iconic status in the tailoring trade, is a strong and eye-catching visual element, especially when viewed from a high vantage point. As well as that, it informs clearly and instantaneously the theme of the exhibition.
Making use of the space on its flip side, the tape measure becomes a timeline, which, through photos and text, juxtaposes the significant events in the 60 years’ history of the tailor house with those in Hong Kong and the world in the same period. The structure of a tape measure also enables visitors to retrace easily the entire history in the sequence intended by following the loops.
Multimedia and interactive features are used extensively in the exhibition to present technical and factual information in an interesting manner.
Location: IFC Mall, Central
